Indian Railways installs IP based Video Surveillance System at Stations

Indian Railways is in the process of installing Internet Protocol (IP) based Video Surveillance System (VSS) at stations to enhance security. Railway board of India has approved work for the provision of a video surveillance system covering 983 stations over Indian Railways under the Nirbhaya fund. In the first phase of installation, Vss is being installed at 200 stations and as on date work has been completed at 81 stations across India. This year a budget of Rs. 250 crore was allotted to Indian Railways from the Nirbhaya fund for installation of the video surveillance system.

RBI Releases "National Strategy for Financial Inclusion" for the period 2019-2024

The Reserve Bank of India has released a report "National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (NSFI): 2019-2024". This has been done keeping in view the global trend of financial inclusion which acts as a key driver of economic growth. The national strategy plan i.e, NSFI was finalized and approved by the Financial Stability Development Council (FSDC) and the final documents were released y RBI deputy director Mahesh Kumar Jain at the high-level meeting on Financial Inclusion for the North East region at Agartala, Tripura.

'Yashaswini Scheme' was launched by the Union Minister Smriti Irani in Goa

Union Minister for Women and child development and Textiles, Smriti Irani launched the Yashaswini scheme for women entrepreneurship at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium in taleigao towns near Panaji district of Goa. Swasthya Sakhi project and breast cancer screening initiative were also inaugurated on the occasion. Under the Yashawini scheme, interest-free loans up to Rs. 5 lakh with a tenure of five years will be given to women self-help groups by the state government of Goa. 

BCCI set to appoint Madan Lal, Gautam Gambhir as CAC member

Madan Lal, the 1983 world cup winner also served as India coach in the 1990s, Gambhir was the only Indian and one of four international cricketers to have scored hundreds in five consecutive test matches.
