ICAI signs MoU with Invest India to promote Foreign Investment

 

♦ The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Invest India signed a MoU to promote foreign investment in India and Indian investments outside India.

♦ The MoU was signed by ICAI President Naveen N D Gupta and Invest India CEO Deepak Bagla.

♦ The Objective is to collaborate and promote foreign investment in India and Indian investments abroad and also intends to promote India as an investment-friendly destination and provide necessary guidance and advice to the potential inbound and outbound investors.

 

2nd ASEAN India Youth Summit held in Guwahati

 

♦ 2nd ASEAN-India Youth Summit held in Guwahati to strengthen the mutual cooperation among ASEAN countries.

♦ The Summit was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

♦ The theme of the Summit was 'Connectivity: Pathway to Shared Prosperity'.

 

Textiles Minister Smriti Irani launched India Size project in Mumbai

 

♦ Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani has launched the India Size project in Mumbai with an objective to get a standard Indian Size for the ready-to-wear clothing industry, on the lines of the standardized sizes available in countries such as the USA and the UK.

♦ This project will benefit manufacturers, consumers and generate data which will help tap into the potential of the sector

 

India to host 13th Conference of Parties of Convention on Conservation of Migratory Species

 

♦ 13th Conference of Parties of Convention on Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) will be hosted by India during 15th-22nd February 2020 at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

♦ The Conference of Parties of Convention on Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) is an environmental treaty under the aegis of United Nations Environment Programme to conserve terrestrial, marine and avian migratory species throughout their range.

 

India signed MoU with Bangladesh for Training 1800 Bangladesh Civil Servants

 

♦ India and Bangladesh have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for training 1800 Bangladesh Civil Servants under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR&PG).

♦ The MoU was signed between the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and the Ministry of Public Administrative, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh for the tenure of 6 years.

 

Biswamohan Mahapatra appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of NPCI

 

♦ Biswamohan Mahapatra has been appointed as non-executive chairman of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for two years with immediate effect.

♦ He succeeded B Sambamurthy who was the interim chairman of NPCI.

Recently Dilip Asbe was appointed as MD of NPCI.

 

International Day of Women and Girls in Science: 11th February

 

♦ International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated on 11th February to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.

♦ It was celebrated first time in 2016.

♦ The theme for International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2019 is "Investment in Women and Girls in Science for Inclusive Green Growth".
