Distinguished scientist Ajit Kumar Mohanty was appointed Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), the county's premier multi-disciplinary nuclear research facility.
He has been appointed for a period of three years.
He is at present Director, Physics Group in BARC and Director, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics.

Madhya Pradesh government approved an Ordinance increasing reservation quota for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to 27% from the current 14%.
It made Madhya Pradesh the only state in India to have 27% quota for OBCs.
The announcement was made by the state's Law and Legal Affairs Minister PC Sharma.

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBB) has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group (WBG).
The agreement was signed by K.R. Saji Kumar, Executive Director, IBBI and Jun Zhang, Country Manager, IFC India.
The agreement will enable IFC to assist IBBI to further build the capacity of insolvency professionals, and insolvency professional agencies for the purposes of the Code.

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has bagged the First Prize in the category of TV Cinema Spot at the International Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019 held at Internationale Tourismus-Borse (ITB), Berlin.

Ministry of Commerce & Industry will be organizing the 14th CII EXIM Bank Conclave on India-Africa Project Partnerships, in association with Confederation of Indian Industry and EXIM Bank of India in New Delhi.

She lives in Fukuoka, Japan.

Korea Exim Bank has come forward to provide a Rs 4,100 crore for Visakhapatnam (VIZAG) Metro Rail Project.
The state government had earlier sent a proposal in this regard to the Central government, which in turn forward it to Korean Exim Bank. Following this, Bank deputed a team to Amaravati to hold talks with the state government.
