Army launches 'Mission Reach Out' in Jammu

 

The Army has launched "Mission Reach Out" post revocation of Article 370 in Jammu Division.

A High-level 'Mission Reach OUt' Conference was chaired by White KNight Crops Commander Lt Gen Paramjit Singh in Jammu.

This Mission aims to ensure basic necessities and essential services are available in the region post the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370 and recoganisation of Jammu and Kashmir.

Vice President's book title "Listening, Learning & Leading" released

 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah released a Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu's book title "Listening Learning & Leading".

The "Listening Learning & Leading" details Naidu's public as well as diplomatic engagement, including his visits to 19 countries across four continents.

The book was released in Chennai at a function organised by Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

 

Chandrima Shaha elected INSA's first women president

 

Renowned biologist, Ms Chandrima Shaha became the first woman to get elected as president of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) from January 1, 2020.

She will succeed Ajay K. Sood.

She was formerly director of the National Institute of Immunology(NII).

"Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar" a book on the life of Sridevi

 

Penguin Random House India has announced a book on the liife of Sridevi on 56th birth anniversary of Sridevi.

The book title "Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar" is written by author-screenwriter Satyarth Nayak.

The book will be published under the Ebury Press imprint of Penguin Random House in October 2019.

 

Researchers from IIT Kharagpur have developed a low-cost diagnostic device

 

Researchers from IIT Kharagpur develped low-cost blood test device that can perform various pathological tests by using blood taken from a fingerprick.

The device requirs only a paper strip based kit integrated with a smartphone to enable analytics and readout functions and an LED light imaging.

Alejandro Giammattei has been elected as new president of Guatemala.

He defeated former first lady Sandra Torres for the president's seat.

 

Headgear becomes mandatory for children above 4 years

 

Central government has made "Headgear" mandatory for children above 4 years while travelling on motorcycle.

This safety measures for the children has been included in the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) act 2019.

Violators will be fined an amount of RS.1000.

Section 129 of the principal Act has been replaced in the act as "Every person above 4 years of age, driving or riding or being carried on a motorcycle of any class or description shall, while in public place wear protective headgear conforing to such standards as may be prescribed by the central Government" to make protective headgear mandatory for children.

Only Sikhs wearing turban have been exempted from the provision of section 129 that make hamlets mandatory for all riders of motorcycles above 4 years of age.

Business-to-business payments startup Enkash has launched the country's first corporate credit card called 'Freedom Card' for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) / MSMEs and Startups.

The freedom would give the freedom to avail facility for immediate needs and to manage their liquidity.
