Smriti Irani launched 'Yashaswini Scheme' in Goa


Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Textiles, Smriti Irani launched 'Yashaswini Scheme' in Goa.

The schemes are Yashaswini Scheme for Women Entrepreneurship.

The event was held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Taleigao town near Panaji district of Goa.

Swasthya Sakhi Project and breast cancer screening initiative were also inaugurated on the occasion.

Under the Yashaswini Scheme, interest-free loans up to Rs. 5 lakhs with a tenure of five years will be given to women self-help groups by the state government of Goa.

Under the breast cancer initiative, women will be screened for breast cancer by the healthcare workers of the state by which healthcare services will be reached out in rural areas of the state.

Under the Swasthya Sakthi Project, a diagnostic kit is given to the healthcare workers which helps them to conduct basic diagnostic tests for People in the state at their doorsteps.


SEBI defer deadline to April 2022 for split chairman & MD post


SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) stock market regulator has deferred the deadline for the separation of the posts of Chairman and MD (Managing Director) or chief executive officer (CEO) for 500 listed companies by 2 years. Now this rule has to be followed by April 1, 2022.

The rules to separate the post of Chairman & MD are part of the recommendations of the Uday Kotak (MD of Kotak Mahindra Bank) Committee appointed by SEBI on Corporate Governance.

In 2018 the SEBI asked the top 500 listed companies to split the post of chairman and managing director by April 2020.


World Future Energy Summit  held in Abu Dhabi, UAE


The World Future Energy Summit is to begin at Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Summit is to be held for four days.

The theme for World Future Energy Summit is "Rethinking Global Consumption, Production, and Investment".

The summit will have 33,500 participants from 170 countries. It will also include 800 special exhibits.

Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al said was appointed as the new Sultan of Oman.

He will succeed Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said who was passed away.

Haitham bin Tariq Al Said who is the cousin of the deceased Sultan Qaboos was the Cultural and Heritage Minister of Oman.
