Meghalaya becomes the 1st state in India to ensure water conservation


Meghalaya became the first state in India to ensure water conservation and have own water policy,

The draft state water policy was approved by the Meghalaya State Cabinet chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.

The objective of the policy is to recognize water resources as common pool resource, to provide safe and hygienic water for drinking, domestic, sanitation & livelihood development to all residents of the state, ensure the protection and conservation of catchment areas of all water sources to prevent degradation of the quantity and quality of water sources.

Indian Naval Ship Tarkash arrives in Morocco


Indian Naval Ship Tarkash arrived at Tangier, Morocco.

The ship is a part of the Indian Navy's Western Fleet and is under the operational Command of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.

On its departure, INS Tarkash will carry out a Passage Exercise at sea with ships of the Royal Moroccan Navy.

Toran Yadav (19), a para-athlete from Khatti village in Chhattisgarh clinch 3 medals for India at 4th World Yoga Festival and Championship 2019, held at Bulgaria, Sofiya.

He stricks twi silver medals in the rhythmic pair and artistic pair and a bronze medal in athletic yoga.

He started yoga from the age of 9 and was selected to represent India.

AIIB provides $100 million to L&T Finance arm


Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), a multilateral development bank has provided $100-million loan to L&T (Larsen & Toubro) Infrastructure Finance Company (LTIF) for wind and solar infrastructure projects.

This is the first time AIIB is extending loan to a non-banking finance company (NBFC).

It is collaborated with AIIB to explore the international market for green finance.

The project mainly helps to increase the supply of renewable energy in India.

India successfully tests a new version of Brahmos missile


Indian has successfully tested the vertical steep dive version of the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile.

Mase in Inda 'Brahmos Aerospace' is also ready with a longer 500 km range version of the Brahmos missile 

India is now the only country in the world to integrate long-range missiles onto fighter jets after the BrahMos missile was test-fired from a Sukhoi 30 aircraft of the Indian Air force.

BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture company owned by governments of India and Russia and its missiles are produced in India.


Brazil won the Copa America 2019 title


At the 46th Edition of Copa America, the host country, Brazil defeated Peru with 3-1 scores to clinch the Copa America Title 2019 in the finals held at Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It was the ninth title for Brazil and first since 2007.
