Kalraj Mishra appointed Himachal Governor & Acharya Dev vrat moved to Gujarat

 

Kalraj Mishra has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, replacing Acharya Dev vrat.

Devvrat was appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh in 2015.

Acharya Devvrat has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Gujarat, He will replace Om Prakash Kohli.

Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Kiran More has been appointed as the interim coach of the USA cricket team.

He will replace the head coach Pubudu Dassanayake.

 

Shah Rukh Khan to receive Honorary Doctorate from Melbourne's La Trobe University

 

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Melbourne's La Trobe University at the 10th edition of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) at Bundoora, Australia.

It will be held on 9 August 2019, where Mr. Khan will be the chief guest.

It will be Khan's first Australia University Award.

Mr. Khan will be awarded for his contributions and efforts towards underprivileged children, women's empowerment through Meer Foundation and for the achievements in the Indian entertainment industry.

 

Over 30 lakh persons enrolled under "PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme"

 

Union Government notified that under "Pradhan MantriShram Yogi Maandhan Scheme", total 30,85,205 persons have been enrolled.

The voluntary and contributory pension scheme is benefited for unorganized sector workers.

The scheme assures the minimum monthly pension of the 3,000 rupees to the beneficiaries after attaining the age of 60 years.

 

World Bank approves $250 million loans for Kerala disaster management

 

The World Bank has signed $250 million loan agreement for the Resilient Kerala project, aimed at enhancing the state's resilience against the impacts of natural disasters and climate change.

Serbian Novak Djokovic won his fifth Wimbledon title after defeating Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer.

This is Djokovic's 16th Grand Slam and 5th Wimbledon title.

Djokovic is the first man in 71 years to win the title from match points down.

He is now level with Bjorn Borg as five-time Wimbledon winner.

 

Lewis Hamilton win 6th British Grand Prix

 

Lewis Hamilton made a thrilling victory in the Silverstone circuit to win his sixth British Grand Prix.

This is his seventh victory in ten races in 2019 and 80th win of his career.

 

Sreeshankar won gold Tatyana Kolpakova International Athletics

 

M. Sreeshankar has won the long jump gold at the Tatyana Kolpakova International athletics.

The tournament was held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
