Justice AK Sikri appointed as the Judge of SICC

 

Former Supreme Court Judge Justice A K Sikri has been appointed as an International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court.

The President of the Republic of Singapore had made the appointment of Justice Sikri starting from August 1, 2019. He is appointed until January 4, 2021.

SICC currently has 16 international judges as part of its panel

Health Ministry to launch a "Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan" in Delhi

 

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will launch a 'Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan' in Delhi to sensitize and mobilise the community on measures for prevention of Vector Bome Diseases (VBDs) like malaria, dengue, and chikungunya.

It will start from 17th to 19th July, 2019 in Delhi.

RBI slaps a penalty on SBI for violating various norms

 

The Reserve Bank of India has slapped a penalty of Rs 7 crore on the country's largest bank State Bank of India (SBI).

The penalty has been imposed on the bank for non-compliance with norms related to NPA identification and fraud risk management, among others.

Centre cuts interest on GPF by 10 bps to 7.9 pc

 

The interest rate on the general provident fund (GPF) has been cut by 10 basis points (bps) to 7.9% from 8%.

The rate will be in force with effect from July 1, 2019.

 

Palau becomes 76th country to join International Solar Alliance

 

Palau became the 76th country to sign the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Framework Agreement.

The ISA is a group of 121 solar resource-rich countries with headquarters in Gurugram, India. 

The organization aims to deploy over 1,000 gigawatts of solar energy and mobilize more than USD 1,000 billion into solar power by 2030.

 

India will host ISSF World Cup 2020

 

International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) approved India's application to host the ISSF World Cup stages.

ISSF World Cup will be held in New Delhi from March 15 to 26, 2020.

The last edition of ISSF World Cup was held in Munich, Germany.
