Senior IFS officer Sanjeev Kumar Singla has been appointed as India's Ambassador to Isreal.

He will be succeeding Pavan Kapoor.

Prior to this, he was serving as Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

IFS officer Vivek Kumar appointed Private Secretary to PM

 

Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Vivek Kumar has been appointed as Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kumar is currently working as Director in the Prime Minister's Office.

He was appointed in the PMO as Deputy secretary in 2014.

 

P T Usha nominated for IAAF Veteran Pin

 

Former Olympic track and field athlete P T Usha has been nominated for the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Veteran Pin.

She will receive the pin during the opening ceremony of the 52nd IAAF Congress in Doha.

P.T. Usha belongs to Kerala.

 

Anish Bhanwala claims gold in ISSF Junior World Cup

 

Anish Bhanwala won gold in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol at ISSF Junior World Cup, while Esha Singh bagged a silver in women's 10m air pistol, consolidating India's top position in Suhl, Germany.

India now has eight gold, nice silver and four bronze medals from the tournament for a total of 21 medals.

 

India's Arjun Bhati won Junior World Golf Championship 2019

 

India's Arjun Bhati defeated Taiwan's Jeremy Chen to win Junior World Golf Championship 2019 in Palm Desert, California.

He finished at-under-par for three rounds and made best score among 13-18 age category.

Arjun secured the first position with a total of 199 strokes in the three-day final.

He was followed by Jeremy Chen and New Zealand's Joshua Bai at second and third positions with 202 and 207 strokes respectively.

 

first-ever Himalayan states conclave to be hosted by Uttarakhand

 

Uttarakhand will host first-ever Himalayan State Conclave on July 28, 2019.

The main focus on sustainable development of the Indian Himalayan Region.

It will be held at Mussoorie.

The event will discuss the common issues pertaining to states located in the Himalayan Region.

Maharastra govt increases aid to kin of Martyred Jawans to Rs. 1crore

 

The Maharashtra Government has approved a four-time increase in the financial assistance to families of martyred and disabled soldiers hailing from the state.

Kin of martyred soldiers will now get Rs.1 crore. Previously, they were given Rs.25 lakh.

Repco MFI wins Award from NABARD for SHG linkage in TN for 2018-19

 

Repco MFI Finance has received Award from NABARD for outstanding performance in terms of self-help group (SHG) linkage in Tamil Nadu for 2018-19.

It operates 90 branches in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and has an employee strength of about 600 people.

Sri Lanka signs an agreement with India to upgrade railways line

 

India and Srilanka have signed a USD 91.26 million contract to upgrade tracks in a key railway segment connecting the north and south.

This is the first time in 100 years that the 130 km-long-tracks, running from Maho town in the North-Western Province to Omanthai in the Northern Province, are being upgraded.

The agreement was signed between IRCON International Limited and Government of Sri Lanka under the Indian Concessional Financing Scheme.

Ebix acquires Yatra Online $337.8 million

 

Ebix, the US-based supplier of on-demand software and e-commerce service has acquired online travel portal Yatra Online for an enterprise value of $337.8 million.

Now, Yatra has become the part of Ebix's EbixCash travel portfolio, forming India's one of the "longest and most profitable" travel services companies.

Yatra will continue to be independently run and will retain its brand and status in India.

 

INS Sagardhwani starts on Mission Sagar Maitri

 

Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sagardhwani has started its two-month-long second mission Sagar Maitri from Southern Naval Command in Kochi, Kerala.

It was flagged off by Southern Naval commander Vice Admiral A.K. Chawla and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) chairman G. Satheesh Reddy.

 

Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit passes away

 

Former Delhi Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit passed aways at the age of 81.

Dikshit served at the Chief Minister of Delhi for a period of 15 years from 1998 to 2013. She was also the longest-serving Chief Minister of Delhi.
