Supreme Court of India set up a committee to draft legislation on Mediation

 

The Supreme Court of India has set up a committee to firm up draft legislation to give legal sancity to disputes settled through mediation.

The panel headed by mediator Niranjan Bhat will recommend a code of conduct for mediators, who are legal experts.

The other members of the panel, appointed by the Mediation and Project Conciliation Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court which includes Justice K Kannan, former ASGs AS Chandok and PS Narsimha, senior advocates Sriram Panchu and JP Singh, and senior mediators Susheela S, Sadhna Ramchandran, Laila Ollapally, and Anil Xavier.

 

RBI stands at 6th spot in buying gold abroad in World Gold Council report

 

Reserve Bank of India has been ranked 6th in the largest buyer of sovereign gold aboard as per World Gold Council (WGC) report title 'World Gold Outlook 2020'.

RBI purchased 25.2 tonnes in the first 10 months of 2019 to hedge government's sovereign gold bond issue. RBI currently holds 625.2 tonnes of gold, forming 6.6% of its forex reserves.

The central banks of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Poland have purchased more gold than India in 2019. In 

In the last 6 months, the growth in gold reserves in the form of gold in India was 27% higher than the overall growth.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited launched a carpooling service in partnership with redBus

 

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited has launched a carpooling service for train passengers in partnership with online bus ticketing platform redBus.

The facility aims to enable last-mile connectivity for daily commuters in an affordable manner.

The service will be offered through 'rPool', an in-app ride-sharing service from redBus.

Hyderabad Metro Rail ltd will also offer space within stations for rPool to set up kiosks for customer service, apart from parking facilities for ride givers on rPool, for easy pick-up and drop of commuters.

 

Adani Capital acquired Essel Finance's MSME loan business.

 

Adani Capital, the NBFC arm of the Adani Group, has acquired Essel Finance's MSME loan business.

Adani Capital has secured a loan book of about Rs 145 crore through the acquisition.

Adani Capital Pvt Ltd focuses on small and micro-entrepreneurs across 4 verticals namely farm, primarily tractor loans, commercial vehicle loans for both new and used vehicles, MSME loans and for supply chain.

 

UP Govt launched Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana

 

Uttar Pradesh state Government has launched Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana.

The scheme will provide financial assistance of Rs.5 lakh to the family of farmers who die or become handicapped while working in fields. The scheme also includes Bataidars for the first time.

The scheme will cover farmers and their family members in the age group of 18-70 years.

The scheme can be availed by filling an application form within 45 days of the farmer's death or becoming divyang.

ICICI Bank launched Cardless cash withdrawal facility through ATMs using 'iMobile'

 

ICICI Bank has launched Cardless cash withdrawal facility from its ATMs with a per-day transaction limit of Rs 20,000.

This service enables customers to withdraw cash from more than 15,000 ATMs of the bank through 'iMobile' ICICI Bank's mobile banking app.

The 'Cardless Cash Withdrawal' service can be used for self-withdrawal when customers are not carrying the debit card. The daily transaction limit as well as per transaction limit is set by bank is upto Rs. 20,000.

Uttarakhand became the 1st state in India to implement agricultural leasing policy

 

Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country which has made a policy to lease agricultural land. After getting approval from the Raj Bhavan, the state govt. has issued its notification.

Under this policy, in lieu of giving land on a 30-year lease, the concerned farmer will get the rent for the land.

By this policy any institution, company, firm or NGO can take farmland on lease in villages, leasing a maximum of 30 acres of land on lease for 30 years and the government land around the farm can be taken for lease by paying the fee with the permission of the District Magistrate.

Indian Navy signed MoU for offshore Data with Geological Survey of India

 

The Indian Navy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geological Survey of India (GSI)

The agreement was on sharing seabed sediment data, products and expertise regarding naval application in meteorology and oceanography.

The MoU was signed between Commodore AA Abhyankar, who heads Indian Navy's Oceanology and Meteorology Directorate and Shri N Maran, Deputy Director-General of GSI.
