Justice Prasanta Kumar Saikia (Retired) has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Lokayukta in Arunachal Pradesh.
Mr. Yeshi Tsering, a retired IAS Officer was also sworn-in as a member of the state Lokayukta.
Governor Dr. B D Mishra was administered the oath of office to Saikia and Tsering at Raj Bhawan in Itanagar.
The chairperson and members will hold office for a term of 5 years or till they attain 70 years of age.

The Appointment Committee of Cabinet has extended the tenure of Amitabh Kant's as the CEO of NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Ayog beyond June 30, 2019 to June 30, 2021.
Kant is a 1980 batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre.
He was Secretary in Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) before serving as CEO of NITI Aayog.
He was appointed as the CEO of NITI Aayog on February 17, 2016.

Rahimatpur police station in Satara district in Maharastra has emerged as the State topper in a survey based on the 'SMART' policing concept.
'SMART' stands for - strict and sensitive, modern and mobile, alert and accountable, reliable and responsive, techno-savvy and trained.
The survey was executed by the Quality Council of India (QCI).
QCI assessed 87 shortlisted police stations across the country on a number of parameters like performance in controlling crime, the infrastructure of the police building, mess and optimal use of technology, and citizen feedback.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a software application Complaint Management System (CMS) on its website.
It will be used for lodging complaints against banks and NBFCs with a motto to improve customer experience in timely redressal of grievances.
Customers can lodge complaints against any of the entities regulated by RBI.
These complaints will be directed to the appropriate office of the Ombudsman/ Regional Office of the RBI.
The RBI is also planning to introduce a dedicated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to track the status of complaints.
