♦ PISA is a triennial international survey, tests the learning level of 15-year-old students in reading, mathematics, science and collaborative problem solving and is conducted by OECD every three years.
♦ The objective for participation in PISA is to help introduce competency-based examination reforms in the school system and to evaluate the education system in the country.
♦ The CBSE and NCERT will be part of the process and activities leading to the actual test.
♦ The students for the test will be selected through random sampling by PISA.
♦ More than 80 countries, including 44 middle-income countries, have participated in the assessment since the first round of testing in 2000.
♦ The next round of PISA is going to held in 2021.
