IBPS Prelim Syllabus is divided into three sections namely, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English. The syllabus of  IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk is the same. Only the difficulty level of Question is varies. IBPS PO exam is a little bit difficult than IBPS Clerk.

35 Questions with 35 marks will be asked from this section in IBPS PO Prelim Exam. The topics to be covered under this section are:

Puzzles and Seating Arrangement 

10-15 Questions from this topic will be asked. This is one of the most important topics in the IBPS PO Exam. this topic is time-consuming but in this section high accuracy is possible and this is the most scoring topic with a clear concept.  puzzles can be based on month, day, comparison, floor, Box, or Distribution. and Seating Arrangement can be based on linear, circular, square, rectangle or North-South facing.

Blood relation 

2-3 Questions from this topic can be asked. This can be based on coded blood relation, single person blood relation or mixed blood relation

Coding Decoding

5 Questions can be asked based on a new pattern or Old pattern. this topic is less time consuming and high accuracy is possible. this is more scoring topic. Questions from this topic may be based on simple word coding, sentence coding or new pattern based coding.

Syllogism

3-5 Questions can be asked based on a new pattern or Old pattern. this topic is less time consuming and high accuracy is possible. New pattern syllogism will be Possibility based and Negative information based, and Old pattern syllogism will be based on direct questions with 2-3 statements and 2-3 conclusions.

Inequality

5 Questions from this topic can be asked based on new pattern or old pattern. This topic is less time consuming and high accuracy is possible.this is also a scoring topic. This can be based on multiple relations, reverse, indirect symbol or coded, direct inequality based.

Input-output

5 Questions from this topic may be asked. This topic may be time-consuming but high accuracy is possible. 

Order and Ranking

Quadratic Equation

5 Questions from this topic will be asked. this topic is less time consuming and high accuracy is possible.In this, you have to solve the given two variables to know the relation between both variables.

Data Interpretation

10 Questions from this topic will be asked. This topic is moderate time consuming but high accuracy is possible. DI can be based on tabular form, line graph, bar graph, pie chart, missing or caselets.

Educational Qualifications (As on 04.09.2018):

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he/she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Age (As on 01.08.2018):

Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 01.08.1998 (both dates inclusive).

Nationality / Citizenship:

A candidate must be either -

(i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

IBPS PO Application Fee:

The application fees for IBPS PO 2018 exam is

- Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

- Rs. 600 /- for all others

IBPS PO Job Profile:

After selection for the post of Probationary, a candidate will serve 2 years (may vary from one bank to another) of Probation Period after which you will be Assistant Manager in the assigned Public Sector Bank. And after the completion of the Probation Period, the banks usually conduct an internal examination. Few rules and structures may vary from bank to bank and after the exam, if a candidate fails to pass, his/her probation period is extended and upon successfully passing the exam he/she is assigned the post of Assistant Manager.

After selection for the post of a Probationary Officer, a candidate will be promoted to the post of Assistant Manager through an internal examination. These banks keep conducting internal examinations at regular intervals for the process of promotion. Apart from these internal examinations, one also gets promoted on the basis of her seniority. The growth chart of a probationary officer begins with the post of Assistant Manager and then he is promoted to the following posts:

• Deputy Manager
• Branch Manager
 Senior Branch Manager
• Chief Manager
 Assistant General Manager
 DGM
 General Manager

►The Job Role or Work responsibilities of a Probationary Officer of a public sector bank will include to look after public relations, monitor and regulate branch activities and tasks, address customer related issues and grievances, approving and monitoring daily branch and customer transactions and handling loan processing. 

►An assistant manager is expected to multitask and verify the work done by clerks whenever required. Also, to be always aware of the policies and decisions made by the management and to implement those in the functioning of his branch.

►Probationary Officers and Managers in banks are into customer dealing and maintenance and supervising regular branch activities.

Salary: 

The Bank PO freshers salary can range from Rs23,700 - Rs 42,020. A Probationary Officer in a Public Sector Bank gets a basic pay of Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 27000. Various perks and benefits are also added to this basic pay and the overall salary finally amounts to Rs. 39,000 to Rs. 42,020. The salary of a candidate also depends on the place of posting and the bank she/he is selected for.

IBPS PO Result:

The result for IBPS PO is usually declared within 10-15 days after the exam. Last year, The  Result for IBPS PO Prelims phase was declared on 1st Nov and for mains on 28th December.

IBPS PO Admit Card:

IBPS PO admits card 2018 will be released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for the candidates who’ve been successfully applied for the exam of IBPS Probationary Officers. The admit card is usually released 15 days prior to the examination.

How to Apply?

  1. You can Register yourself by going to the IBPS Official Website and click on the ‘Home Page’ to open the link ‘CWE PO/MT’.

  2. Click relevant links to apply for IBPS PO recruitment.

  3. Enter basic details and upload scanned photo & signature as per the size requirements mentioned in the official IBPS PO notification.

  4. Also, enter your additional details like educational qualifications and work experience.

  5. Use a valid email ID that should be kept active till the declaration of results

  6. must be paid Online only while completing IBPS online application, By using Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/Cash Cards/Wallets, etc.

  7. By following these above steps, you will submit your IBPS PO Form successfully.

  8. Submit the Application Form.

  9. Take out the print out of the Application Form for future reference.

IBPS PO Marks & Exam Pattern 2018

The selection procedure will be divided into 3 parts, consisting of 2 online examinations and a third Interview round. The Preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and will not be counted towards the final total. Only those who qualify through Mains will be eligible to attend Interview processes.

Note: There is negative marking in IBPS PO exam and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer attempted by a candidate.  If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Note: No separate paper will be conducted for Computer Applications. Reasoning is teamed up with Computer Aptitude section and this entire section will contain 45 questions of a total of 60 marks. The overall time allotted for IBPS PO 2018 Mains Exam has also been changed from 140 minutes to 180 minutes.

IBPS PO Mains Descriptive Paper

The descriptive paper will be of 30 minutes duration with 25 marks assigned to the test of English Language. You will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay. You will be needed to secure passing marks to qualify the Descriptive Test, to be decided by the Bank.

 

IBPS PO Interview Process:

Candidates who qualify the Mains Exam are finally called for the Interview Process by IBPS.

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100.

The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates)

  The weightage (ratio) of Online Main Exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively. .

A candidate should qualify both in the Online Main Exam and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on IBPS website.
