General Science

There are 4 sections in General Science section. The detailed syllabus of each section is provided below. The Questions from this section is based on the following topics.

Physics:

This section includes Questions from topics like- Units & dimensions, Force and laws of motion, Gravitation, Work & energy, Sound, Light & human eye, Electricity, Magnetic effects of electric current, Sources of energy, Atomic & nuclear physics, Electronics, Scientific instruments

Chemistry

This section includes Questions from topics like- Atomic structure, Periodic classification of elements, Chemical bonding, Oxidation and reduction, Acids, bases & salts, Behavior of gases, Electrolysis, Carbon & it’s compounds, Fuels, Metallurgy, Metals & non-metals

Biology:

This section includes Questions from topics like- The fundamental unit of life, Tissues, Diversity in living organisms, Food resources, Life processes, Control & coordination, Heredity & Evolution, Natural resources, Environmental Studies, etc.

RRB(RRC) Group D Marks Exam Pattern 

You have to go through 3 stages of RRB Group D exams.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
3. Document Verification (DV)

1. Computer Based Test

• 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• The questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.

2. Physical Efficiency Test

If you qualify the CBT then you will be called for a Physical Efficiency Test which following will be of the pattern:

Male Candidates

• You should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
• You should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

Female Candidates

• You should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
• You should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

3. Document Verification

• Based on the performance of the candidates in the CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates will be called for document verification.
• Thereafter, the final selection will be made.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have done 10th or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT / SCVT or its equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. or, 10th pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass plus ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT / SCVT.

Age Limit:

• Minimum - 18 Years

• Maximum - 30 Years

Age relaxation is applicable as per the Indian railway rules.

ST/SC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen - Rs. 250/-

Admit Card

RRB will release Group D Admit card before 4 days of examination on the official website. However, only those candidates will be able to download RRB Group D 2018 Admit Card, who will submit the application form successfully.

How to Apply for RRB Group D 2018 Recruitment?

• Visit the official website of RRB Zones (CEN 02/2018)
• Click on Recruitment option on the homepage
• Select your region i.e. the region for which you want to apply as Indian Railways give option for 21 regions of India
• An Online application will be displayed
• Click on the " New Registration link"
• Fill the details carefully and apply for the desired post.
• Submit the form (Stage I completed)
• A Registration number and password will be displayed on the screen
• Login again using the registration number and password
• Fill the asked relevant details carefully (Stage II completed)
• Now make the application fee payment through net banking/ debit card/ credit card/ e-challan/ pay-in-slip payable any bank .
• Download the bank template by clicking on the option mentioned.
• Now affix your passport sized photograph and signature along with left-hand thumb impression, also copy the declaration
• Scan the filled template in the format given in the instructions
• Submit the application form but before that check it carefully and take out print for further use.

RRB(RRC) Group D pay scale is Rs. 18,000/- (Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix) plus allowances as admissible.
