The average age of A and B, 2 years ago was 26. If the age of A 5 years hence is 40 yrs, and B is 5 years younger to C, then find the difference between the age of A and C?

Solution:

2 years ago, age of A and B = 52

then present Age of A and B = 52 + 4 = 56

age of A is 5 year hence = 40 yrs (given)

then present Age of A = 35

and B's present age = 56 - 35 = 21

Let B = x

then C = x + 5

C = 21 + 5 = 26

Difference =A - C = 35 - 26 = 9
