Question Paper from: SBI PO Prelims 2017

I. 2x² - 7x + 6 = 0

II. y² - 3y + 2 = 0

1:

x = y or no relation can be established

2:

x ≤ y

3:

x ≥ y

4:

x > y

5:

x < y

Solution:
Chapter Name: Quadratic Equation
Difficulty Level: Moderate

2x² - 7x + 6 = 0

⇒ 2x² - 4x - 3x + 6 = 0

⇒ 2x(x -2) - 3(x - 2) = 0

⇒ (x - 2)(2x - 3) = 0

⇒ x = , 2

y² - 3y + 2 = 0

⇒ y² - 2y - y + 2 =0

⇒ y(y - 2) - 1(y - 2) = 0

⇒ (y - 2)(y - 1) = 0

⇒ y = 2, 1

No relation can be established between x & y
